Adolf Berger (born on May 27, 1889, in Vienna) and his wife, Berta (born on December 25, 1885), fled to Italy on July 11, 1939. About one year later they were deported to the camp in San Lorenzo, later to Fossoli di Carpi, and finally on May 16, 1944, to Auschwitz, where they died shortly after their arrival on May 23, 1944.
