Spanish Civil War Collection
- Since 1984, documents (copies of official documents, photos, letters, newspaper articles, autobiographical texts) have been compiled in this unique collection on Austrian participation in the Spanish Civil War. When the collection was begun, documents on approximately fifty former volunteers in the Spanish Civil War were archived in the general collection of the DÖW. Now the Spanish Civil War collection houses source material on over 1,000 Austrians in the Spanish Civil War. Approximately 400 persons are recorded only through references. The collection is supplemented by a special library on the Spanish Civil War.
